A Bill for
ANACTofParliamenttoamendtheEnvironmental Managementand Co-ordination Act and for connectedpurposes
ENACTEDbytheParliamentofKenya,asfollows
1.This Act maybe cited as the Environmental Management and Co-ordination(Amendment)Act,2023.
2.Section 42of theEnvironmental Management and Co-ordinationAct is amended in subsection(3) byinserting the following new paragraphs immediately after paragraph (b)——
(ba)the prohibition of the introduction,growth or maintenance of trees of theeucalyptusspeciesinand along any river,lake,sea or wetland;
(bb)theprohibition of the introduction,growth or maintenanceofanyinvasivespeciesorother potentiallydangerousspecies;
Short title.
Amendmentof section42of Cap.387.
