  2. At constituency level, the returning officer received original Forms 34A, checked voter totals, collated them into Form 34B, uploaded it publicly and gave copies to agents.

  3. At the polling station, the presiding officer recorded votes and disputed-ballot decisions on Form 34A, signed it, allowed the deputy to sign, requested agent signatures, recorded refusals, announced the result, imaged the original and transmitted the results through KIEMS.

  4. If transmission failed, the directive moved transmission to the constituency centre. If the kit could not be repaired or replaced, it required an incident record, hard-copy delivery and public notice.

  5. For registered Kenyan voters outside the country, voting was set for 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 9 August 2022 in each country’s local time.
