QUORUM CALL AT COMMENCEMENT OF SITTING
Order, Hon. Senators! It is time for quorum determination.
Hon. Senators, we have no quorum. So, I will authorize the Division Bell to be rung.
Order! We now have quorum. Stop the bell so that we can commence business.
FATE OF DEVOLVED GOVERNMENT AND DEVOLUTION
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Yesterday you directed me to convert the Statement I had articulated yesterday into a formal written request. I would like to bring to your attention that the gist of that Statement has been overtaken by the signing into law by the President of the Division of Revenue Bill. Therefore, I wish to declare that I have vacated my interest and I would prefer that we pursue the matter through the system that we agreed on yesterday in the Kamukunji.
June 12, 2013 SENATE DEBATES MOTION OF ADJOURNMENT UNDER STANDING ORDER NO.31 ADJOURNMENT OF THE SENATE TO DELIBERATE ON THE WAY FORWARD AFTER PRESIDENTIAL ASSENT TO THE DIVISION OF REVENUE BILL
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I seek to move under Standing Order No.31, that we adjourn the business of the House for very understandable reasoning, arising out of the meeting that we had yesterday. There is a lot of business to be undertaken this morning and, later on, in the afternoon. Therefore, without pressing the point, I beg to move that we adjourn the business of the House for the reasons discussed in the Kamukunji yesterday.
Sen. Wako seconded
